Robot Rock Bands Intend to Replace Human Musicians Forever

When humanity inevitably finds itself at war with our robot nemeses, we know one thing for sure: They’ll have their own theme music. Until that happens, though, we have got the opportunity to listen to an entirely new field of music. While robotic music and electronic music might sound like they are pretty similar from a layman’s perspective, Troy Rogers of EMMI explains that it’s actually something really new.

Which NFL Team Has the Best Hip-Hop Fan Tribute?

Despite Vegas’s ideal efforts, determining who’s going to win any given week’s football game is not an exact science. Some select to look at who the oddsmakers favor or follow the speaking heads on the pre-game shows. Some people stick to the Balki System, and for a good two-week stretch during the middle of the season, we made it through our pick-’em league by writing both teams’ names on sheets of paper, placing a Beggin’ Strip on each one and ...

Shaq Conducts the Boston Pops

Now that Shaq is a member of the Celtics, he is gotta familiarize himself with the city of Boston. His biggest immersion experience thus far? Last Monday night, when he conducted the famous Boston Pops Orchestra. Sure, it might have been a little obvious that something was afoot when the tiny, female conductor handed her baton over to the NBA center, but it must’ve been an awesome treat for everyone in the audience. Our friends at Urlesque have the video. ...

Fully Sick Rapper Sets World Record With Nine-Hour Rhyme

You may remember Christiaan Van Vuuren — aka the Fully Sick Rapper — from a piece we put together earlier this year. He’s the TB-stricken Aussie who became an Web sensation after bustin’ out some serious rhymes in a quarantined hospital room — where he spent a total of 187 days before being released. Since his lonesome days spent in medical solitary confinement, he is made huge strides toward raising awareness for tuberculosis.

Don’t anticipate any real-life Mariah Careys on here: The models got some serious help hitting the right note.

Stage Dive Fails — 8 Examples of How Not to Jump Into a Crowd

The capability to share your enjoyment of a concert by jumping into a receptive crowd is an incredible feeling. Except for when the crowd is not so receptive, and you plummet to the ground instead. But watching a person hurling himself into a packed crowd that somehow conspires to move neatly out of the way, leaving the stage diver with a one-way ticket to Faceplantville is undoubtedly hilarious.

Saigon’s ‘Get Busy’ Brings Back the Classic Sound of ‘Super Mario Bros.’

As demonstrated by his stage name, hip-hop artist Saigon has a sense of history. His latest single, “Get Busy,” samples the beat from “Super Mario Bros.,” the NES staple that was until recently the bestselling video game in history. In the song’s lyrics, the Brooklyn-born MC maintains a “Mario Bros.”-theme and also drops the Konami Code for good measure. The video for “Get Busy” features Mario in all of his classic eight-bit glory.

Get the Full Benefit of Stereo With Asylum’s Pioneer Headphone Giveaway

Don’t get us wrong, earbuds are great headphones, especially given that you can listen to your mp3 player and then throw it and you headphones into your pocket. But, when inconspicuousness and extreme portability aren’t mandatory, a true music fan should be listening to tunes through headphones with a tiny more oomph. “But these earbuds came free with my iPod, and they do not sound that bad,” you might say.
