Supreme Court turns away suit seeking Puerto Rico congressional vote

The Supreme Court will not hear an appeal from residents of Puerto Rico seeking to gain a voting representative in Congress.  The high court turned away the appeal from Gregorio Igartua and other Puerto Ricans on Monday.  Territorial status allows residents of Puerto Rico U.S. citizenship, but they pay no federal income taxes and can’t vote in presidential elections. CarMax Accused of Failing to Disclose Aspects of Cars’ History

A Maryland judge is being asked to find CarMax, the automotive retailer, in contempt of court for failing to abide by a 2008 class-action settlement. Cornel West Arrested at Supreme Court Protest

WASHINGTON — Author, commentator, civil rights activist and Princeton University professor Cornel West has been arrested while protesting on the steps of the Supreme Court about corporate influence in politics.  A Supreme Court spokeswoman states 19 people were arrested Sunday afternoon after they refused to leave the grounds of the court.  Ann Wilcox, an attorney and legal adviser to the protesters, states West was among those arrested.
