Cessna Lands on Military Airfield in Belarus

A private Cessna-172 airplane landed on a military airfield in Belarus without permission, the Belta news bureau reported on Monday. The pilot, a Minsk resident, was detained. He had taken a few friends on board to give them “a bird’s eye view of the city” but had to make an emergency landing due to a technical problem. The pilot had not asked air traffic controllers for landing permission. It was uclear whether the passengers were also detained.

Rypien was hopeful for future, his agent says

Former NHL enforcer Rick Rypien, who died suddenly Monday, had been looking forward to the beginning of training camp, his agent stated Tuesday.
