Davis Sanchez retires after 11-year CFL career

Veteran defensive back Davis Sanchez has called it a career after 11 CFL seasons, the last two with the B.C. Lions. Wally Buono told reporters on a conference call that the 37-year-old is retiring after helping the Lions early in their Grey Cup-winning 2011 season. Canadiens’ Carey Price out for season with concussion

Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price has been diagnosed with mild concussion and will miss the rest of the season. The Habs made the announcement Wednesday after the 24-year-old was analyzed by the team’s physician. Cindy Klassen, Christine Nesbitt and Brittany Schussler combined to earn Canada a silver medal in women’s team pursuit at the speedskating single distance world championships Sunday.
