In which we bring you motoring news from around the Web:

• Ford announced details of its 2013 Flex on Tuesday. The crossover received a revised front fascia and headlights, while its base 3.5-liter V-6 was tuned to produce 285 horsepower, 20 more than the outgoing model. The automaker’s 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6, generating 355 horsepower, remains an option, as does the MyFord Touch telematics system, which is receiving a major system upgrade. Pricing is expected to be announced closer to its sale date next year. The 2013 Flex will be displayed publicly at the Los Angeles auto show next week. (Ford)

• General Motors informed American dealers on Monday that they could sell their demonstration models of the Chevrolet Volt as used vehicles. The demos, 2,300 in total, were intended to generate interest in the plug-in hybrid, the company’s first. G.M. stated it authorized the sales to shorten wait times for consumers whose preferred models were not yet available from the factory but were present as demos in dealer showrooms. Daniel F. Akerson, the G.M. chairman, stated last week that the company still intended to build 10,000 Volts this year, despite having sold only about 5,000. (The Detroit Free Press)

• Lotus Cars opened its first showroom in China last week, the sports-car manufacturer announced on Tuesday. The showroom, located in the Chaoyang district of Beijing, sold almost 300 models before its official opening, according to a statement by Li-Chen Zhang, the president and chief executive of Lotus China. Attending the opening was Clive Chapman, the son of Colin Chapman, the founder of Lotus. (Lotus Cars)

• Saab‘s impending sale to Youngman and Pang Da came across another obstacle Monday, as General Motors, which retained a stake in the embattled Swedish brand after it sold it to Spyker in 2010, stated it would oppose the sale. G.M. produces the 9-4X crossover for Saab and stated it would cease to supply the model and other components if the sale were to occur. G.M. stated Friday that the sale to the two Chinese brands would hurt the company’s competitive position in China.
